Google’s Pixel 10a may land far earlier than anyone expected, with a new leak hinting at a mid-February debut and a fresh “Berry” color in the mix. The surprise timing suggests Google is preparing to move up its launch cycle.

The rumor comes from a Bluesky post by Roland Quandt, a well-known industry leaker and WinFuture writer with a long history of landing Pixel intel early, bringing fresh attention to Google’s next entry in the A-series lineup.

A familiar face with a few fresh twists

Droid-Life now pegs the Pixel 10a’s release for Feb. 17, tightening the launch window around Google’s much-awaited budget phone.

According to Android Headlines’ latest render, the rumored phone retains the same design as the Pixel 9a: a flat back, thick bezels, and the familiar dual-camera bar. Pixel 10a also carries over the hole-punch front camera and the same two-sensor setup on the back, matching the tech titan’s plan to keep this design language through three generations.

The render shows the Obsidian variant, a name Google has used since the Pixel 6 redesign. Quandt’s post expanded the lineup further, mentioning Fog, Lavender, and the new Berry finish, a color reminiscent of the red shade used on the previous Nest Cam.

Rumored specs sketch out a no-frills update

The phone is expected to use a 6.285-inch display (rounded to 6.3 inches) with a 120Hz refresh rate, switching between 120Hz and 60Hz as needed. It still doesn’t use a more advanced screen capable of ramping down to extremely low refresh rates for added efficiency.

The leak lists 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with a 256GB option also in the works. The device is also said to include a 5,100mAh battery with 23W charging.

The spec sheet from Android Headlines did not list a processor, but earlier leaks indicated the Pixel 10a may run a refined version of the Tensor G4, an upgraded take on what’s been expected for this tier.

February chatter breaks from last year’s slower rollout

Early expectations had placed the Pixel 10a’s launch before the end of 2025, a window that ultimately passed without an announcement. Last year’s Pixel 9a didn’t land until its mid-March reveal and April release, making the newly rumored date significantly earlier than usual for the A-series.

If the February window checks out, Google’s budget line may be getting an unusually early start. The company has not commented on the reported timing.
