Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude model family, is opening a Sydney office as it expands its presence across the Asia-Pacific region.
The new office will support customers in Australia and New Zealand and becomes Anthropic’s fourth regional hub, joining Tokyo, Bengaluru and Seoul. The company said demand for Claude is growing across enterprises, startups and research organisations in the region.
Anthropic already works with several organisations across Australia and New Zealand, including enterprises such as Canva, Quantium and Commonwealth Bank of Australia, as well as startups building new artificial intelligence applications in areas such as agricultural technology, robotics and climate technology.
The Sydney presence is intended to strengthen local customer support, partnerships and hiring as adoption of generative artificial intelligence tools accelerates across Asia-Pacific.
What it means for enterprise and B2B tech
For enterprises, a local Anthropic presence could make it easier to deploy large language models such as Claude while meeting regional requirements around data governance, integration and support.
For B2B technology vendors, the move highlights intensifying competition to serve enterprise artificial intelligence workloads in Asia-Pacific, as model developers and cloud platforms invest in regional teams and ecosystems.
