Samsung has debuted the Galaxy A07 5G, expanding AI access to budget-conscious users.

As the direct successor to the Galaxy A06 5G, the device distinguishes itself by placing a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence. The device, released on Jan. 13, stands out for offering better battery life, advanced AI, and longer support, features typically found on mid-range devices from other brands.

Information from Samsung’s newsroom indicates that the A07 5G excels at mobile AI, improving task execution and app performance. By combining the Gemini AI power with Galaxy AI, Samsung aims to further democratize access to AI on its mobile devices.

How the A07 5G compares with its predecessor

The A07 5G repeats several core features from its predecessor, including the System-on-Chip (Soc). However, the A07 5G leans more toward where Samsung may be headed with its future phones, especially in AI. It comes with key feature upgrades that work alongside its new intelligent capabilities.

  • Bigger battery: The A07 5G features a 6,000 mAh battery, a significant increase over its predecessor’s capacity. Its large battery not only lasts beyond a full day of use but also meets 5G’s power demands, a smart move given the phone’s modest, power-efficient chip.
  • Long-term value: Samsung made a substantial commitment to the A07 5 G’s longevity, promising six years of OS and security upgrades. The significant commitment represents a major increase over the four years of support the Galaxy A06 5G received. By extending the security update timeline, Samsung ensures that users keep their devices current and protected against emerging threats for much longer. The focus on enduring software support makes the A07 5G a highly cost-effective choice for budget-conscious consumers.
  • Built with AI in mind: While the A06 5G campaigned on affordable 5G, the A07 takes a step higher by adding AI to a list of premium-like features available to its users. Features like Google Gemini and Circle to Search are listed among AI features its users will experience, according to its newsroom report.
  • Brighter outdoors, smoother displays: While both phones share a similar display size and build, the A07 5G upgrades the display quality. It now features a 120Hz refresh rate, up from the A06 5G’s 90Hz, which creates a smoother viewing experience. Brighter screens also increase the viewing experience during outdoor use.

Pricing and availability

Availability is currently limited, as Google search results list the phone only in Asian regions. Despite this, its extensive network-band support suggests the phone will eventually roll out in most regions worldwide.

Limited initial availability complicates pricing on public listings. GSMArena, for instance, only provided India-based pricing converted to US dollars: the 128GB, 4GB RAM variant reportedly costs $176.67, and the 128GB, 6GB RAM variant reportedly costs $198.75.

Don’t miss insights from Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on Feb. 25, where the new Galaxy S26 lineup — expected to push mobile AI even further — is expected to be revealed live.
