It turns out, the key to a terrifying voice is milk… lots of milk. That’s according to actress Delanie Nicole Gill, who revealed that in order to get the voice just right for Grace’s stalker enemy named “The Girl” in Resident Evil Requiem, she had to drink two jugs of milk.

As reported by TheGamer, Gill explained during a Resident Evil Requiem panel at MegaCon Orlando 2026 (via footage posted online by MiamiGameHunter on YouTube) that the voice directors wanted a “very thick consistency” to her spit when voicing lines for The Girl. If you have played Requiem, you know her voice is horrific, as is her desire to eat you.

“They wanted a very thick consistency to my spit, and they wanted gurgling and clicking and things like that,” Gill said. “We did two four-hour sessions, and I went through two jugs of milk, around this big [gestures to a size similar to at least a gallon of milk], to thicken up my spit. I had to lay a towel on my lap because of the way my mouth was arranged – my bottom lip was down and it was just dripping in my lap.”

That sure is something, but good for Gill – her milk-chugging efforts created arguably the scariest enemy in the entire game.

Speaking of that game, you can read Game Informer’s Resident Evil Requiem review to find out why it’s one of our favorite games of the year so far.
