Cosmonaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov captured breathtaking views of aurora lights over Earth, seen from the International Space Station. The lights were captured during one of the most powerful solar storms in over 20 years, according to the National Weather Service’s Space Weather Prediction Center. The last solar radiation storm of comparable severity was recorded in October 2003. Auroras are caused by solar storms emitting high-speed charged particles colliding with Earth’s atmosphere, creating vibrant light displays.

There will once again be 36 rather than 32 teams in next season’s Champions League, and two of those extra places will once again be awarded to the leagues who have been deemed to have performed best in Europe this season. In six of the last eight seasons, England would have claimed one of those two spots.…

According to reports, head coach Thomas Frank’s uncertain future at Tottenham Hotspur is threatening a transfer for forward Mathys Tel. Spurs fended off competition to sign Tel from Bayern Munich during the 2025 winter transfer window on loan with an option to buy for around £50m. The Frenchman struggled to make an impact for Spurs during the run-in, but they still opted to sign him permanently in the summer for a reduced fee of around £30m. Tel has six goals and two assists in his 40 appearances for Spurs across all competitions, but he has only made six Premier League…

Image generated by Google Gemini Password manager users are under siege again. Cybercriminals have launched a sophisticated phishing campaign targeting LastPass customers with urgent “maintenance” alerts designed to steal master passwords within hours. Security experts are calling this latest attack “alarmingly effective” because it exploits users’ trust in legitimate security notifications during a strategically chosen holiday weekend. The scheme revolves around fake emails claiming users must backup their password vaults within 24 hours to prevent data loss. But here’s the twist: clicking those “backup” links doesn’t create any backup—it hands over the keys to everything users have tried to protect.…
