Ligier recently hit the news by recording the slowest ever lap of the Nürburgring, amusingly claiming this “hinted at its glorious history”. But what exactly is that history? Well, the name Ligier first appeared in Autocar in March 1964, on the entry list for the forthcoming Le Mans 24 Hours. Driving for the French importer of Porsches, Guy Ligier would finish seventh in a 904. It had taken the 33-year-old seven years to reach this point since entering his first car race – a rise that was inspiringly self-propelled. Ligier had lost his father, a Vichy farmer, aged seven and left school…

This year, SAP customers are looking ahead to an imminent end-of-support deadline and are continuing their journey to update their enterprise systems to support the latest version. SAP is ending support for its Enterprise Core Components (ECC) enterprise resource planning (ERP) system in 2027, and while some organisations will opt to extend software support for their ageing SAP-based ERP systems, the majority are using the end-of-support deadline as an opportunity to reboot their SAP ERP strategy. Forrester senior analyst Akshara Lopez wrote in a blog post in August 2025 that when it comes to transitioning from ECC, the right…

Noted turntable manufacturer Victrola just announced the Soundstage speaker at CES. This thin little doodad actually sits underneath turntables, removing the need for a full stereo set-up. The Soundstage isn’t the first speaker that offers this functionality, but this one has tech-forward features. It offers multiple connection options, including Bluetooth. Many newer Victrola turntables can do Bluetooth streaming, so adding this speaker to a setup would be extremely simple. Otherwise, companies offer Bluetooth receivers for turntables. It also allows for traditional wired connections, and there’s an option for USB-C. Ligier has set a record at the Nürburgring, claiming the slowest ever lap around the Nordscheife.  Its diesel-powered JS50 quadricycle – homologated in the same category as the Citroën Ami so limited to a top speed of just 28mph – took 28min 25.8sec to complete a lap of the 12.9-mile circuit. This, according to the French microcar manufacturer, “hinted at [its] glorious history in Formula 1”.  The JS50 is notable for not being a conventional car but a ‘voiture sans permis’ – a category of two-seaters that allows French motorists to drive on public roads without a licence, from as early as…

Fujitsu staff in the Post Office Horizon support centre could have stolen money from subpostmasters without them knowing, but never did, according to a 2015 whistleblower interview. Roll, who worked in the Fujitsu support centre from 2001 to 2004, offering third-line tech support to subpostmasters, gave evidence in the High Court that helped subpostmasters expose the truth about the Post Office and Fujitsu’s treatment of them. The…

I also used it regularly to track spending, set goals like pay my mortgage down faster and with general money management. So I set out to find the best Mint alternatives in the wake of its disappointing demise. I gave Credit Karma, Intuit’s other financial app, a try but found it to be…
