Welcome to our latest roundup of what’s going on in the indie game space. It’s been a very busy week of fun game releases (next week will be too!), so let’s get into some of them after a quick reflection on gaming while traveling.I love my Steam Deck. I really truly do. It’s a fantastic machine. And yet when I brought it with me on a five-week trip over the holidays, I used it for barely an hour the entire time. That doesn’t really justify the space and weight it takes up in my bag. The same holds true for…

According to reports, Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson has a ‘low price-tag’ as Arne Slot’s side hold talks with Spurs over a surprising transfer. Robertson is at the heart of one of this window’s most unexpected transfers, with the Liverpool veteran looking increasingly likely to join Premier League rivals Spurs. The Scotland international is regarded as one of the best left-backs to ever play for Liverpool, but he has suffered a fall from grace as he nears the end of his career. The 32-year-old was a weak link in Liverpool’s title-winning side last term and Milos Kerkez joined the club as…

According to reports, Aston Villa are ‘crazy’ about signing former Leeds United star Weston McKennie, while they are set to land Tammy Abraham. Aston Villa made a poor start to this season, but they have enjoyed a remarkable resurgence under head coach Unai Emery, having moved from the relegation places to third in the Premier League. The Villans are currently a leading contender to qualify for the Champions League, while they are joint-top of the Europa League group phase. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that the Premier League otufit are in the market for signings, with their priority to sign…

In preparation for a slowdown, Valmet cut 1075 jobs (a third of its automotive workforce) last year. Production of the Sono Sion and Lightyear 0 had been planned but neither were realised as both start-ups encountered difficulties. Facing a future without any cars to build, Valmet has further diversified into the production of components (including EV batteries) and into other industries such as defence, armoured vehicles, biomass boilers and carbon capture technology.  The loss of a car production line at Valmet would be a blow to the European automotive industry. Build quality is consistently reported to be better than that of the same models…

MIkel Arteta has revealed why Arsenal opted to sign Viktor Gyokeres over Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko in last summer’s transfer window. After being linked with many potential targets, it became clear that Gyokeres and Sesko were their preferred targets, but they eventually settled on the Swedish international. Gyokeres joined Arsenal in a deal worth around £64m, while Man Utd paid around £74m to sign Sesko. It currently seems that neither club made a wise decision, as Gyokeres and Sesko…

According to reports, Chelsea have lodged an ‘offer’ to sign a youngster who was ‘remarkable’ for the Ivory Coast during the African Cup of Nations. Following BlueCo’s takeover of Chelsea, the Premier League giants have largely focused on signing up-and-coming talents on long contracts to build for the future. This transfer model has split the fanbase as it has been suggested that club chiefs are not focused on giving them the best chance of winning major trophies, but they have spent well over £1bn on signings since Todd Boehly and Co. joined the club. Therefore, it is hardly surprising that…

The three Defenders that tackled this year’s Dakar Rally represented the first works entry on the gruelling rally raid from JLR or its predecessors. But it wasn’t the first time that a manufacturer-owned Land Rover had competed – and Autocar was a key part of the story. The Paris-Dakar Rally began in 1979, charting a roughly 6200-mile route between the capitals of France and Senegal, passing through Algeria, Niger and Mali. The event’s notoriety in the UK grew in 1982 when Mark Thatcher, the son of then prime minister Margaret, went missing for six days after crashing his Peugeot 504.…
