Rolls-Royce is winter testing its second electric model, a Cullinan-sized SUV that will go head to head with Bentley’s forthcoming maiden EV. Goodwood’s new model was seen for the first time at parent company BMW Group’s proving ground in Arjeplog, Sweden, in what appears to be close to production spec. The SUV will sit on the Architecture of Luxury platform used by all existing Rolls-Royce models including the Spectre coupé, the firm’s first EV. That model draws electricity from a 102kWh battery, offers 329 miles of range and delivers up to 650bhp from a dual-motor powertrain in top-rung Black Badge…
Image: Generated via Google’s Nano Banana Announcements of new mega data centers have become almost as commonplace as weather forecasts. Britt Burt, an analyst at Industrial Info Resources, told TechRepublic that more than 70 AI data centers with capacities exceeding 1 GW have been announced in the past year. But an Uptime Institute study indicates that half of all planned data centers either won’t be built or construction will be slower than many expect. “Proposals for new giant data centers exceeding 100 MW in power demand have reached new extremes in scale, compute, investment and power consumption,” John O’Brien, an…

Tesla will “basically stop the production” of its Model S and X electric vehicles next quarter, CEO Elon Musk has announced at the automaker’s earnings call for the 2025 fiscal year. “It’s time to bring the Model S and X program to a end with an honorable discharge, because we’re really moving into a future that’s based on autonomy,” Musk said. You can still buy the vehicles as long as there are units to be sold, and Tesla promises to support them for as long as people have them. Once they’re gone, though, they’re gone for good, because Tesla is…
Manchester City have raised almost £300m selling players who never even represented them, which is one of the greatest secrets to their success. The following players have all been sold by Manchester City since Pep Guardiola was appointed manager in summer 2016 for fees despite them never making a single competitive appearance for the club. This is a big part of the reason why they are just 6th in the five-year Premier League net spend table. The UK government has unveiled the Lanarkshire AI growth zone, which promises to deliver more than 3,400 jobs in the coming years. The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) said that 800 of these will be high-paying artificial intelligence (AI) roles covering researchers, programmers, and the permanent staff required to run and maintain datacentre facilities. CoreWeave and DataVita have said they will be investing £1.5bn into delivering a production-grade AI cloud. Danny Quinn, managing director of DataVita, said: “Scotland has everything AI needs: the talent, the green energy, and now the infrastructure. But this goes beyond the physical…
China has agreed to import its first batch of NVIDIA’s H200 AI chips after the government initially rejected the idea, Reuters reported. Several hundred thousand H200 chips were approved for sale in the country following NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang’s visit there last week, according to two people familiar with the matter. The US government allowed the sale of NVIDIA’s H200 processors to vetted and approved companies in China late last year. He announced the move today on Threads, adding, “So excited to work with the very best team in the world on my favorite products.”The Halide app has caught our eye at Engadget at several points over the years. de With also is co-founder of Lux, which is Halide’s parent company. Liverpool and Arne Slot enjoyed some respite and relief, Arsenal fans got a glimpse of what the Kai Havertz-Viktor Gyokeres axis can offer, Jeremy Doku is evolving into Kevin De Bruyne and the whole of Europe should be utterly ashamed of Tottenham finishing fourth. They’re all safely through to the last-16 after finishing in the automatic qualification spots. Chelsea are also in as Cole Palmer returned just in time for Liam Rosenior, but Newcastle will face either Monaco or Qarabag in the play-offs after a credible but ultimately costly draw with PSG. Liverpool 6-0 Qarabag: Respite and relief for Slot…
Rarely does a set of open-fit earbuds actually impress me. I tend to find them underwhelming because overall sound quality is subpar compared to the more “traditional” in-ear models. Any promise of noise reduction, or a far-fetched claim of noise cancellation, usually doesn’t hold true. The first time I used the Shokz OpenFit Pro ($249.95) I was immediately met with better audio performance than I’d just experienced on Sony’s new LinkBuds Clip and noise reduction technology that actually lessened some distractions. These aren’t the perfect set of open earbuds, but they have a lot more to offer than most of…
